About the role

Who You'll Join

A nonprofit e-learning organisation building peer learning tools that develop human skills like communication and empathy. They operate independently and recently secured funding to expand their engineering team and accelerate product development. If you care about education and want to build software that directly affects how people learn and connect, this is worth your attention.

What You'll Do

  • Own full-stack features from scoping through to production release.
  • Build and iterate on consumer-facing products used by a large audience of learners.
  • Work directly with non-technical stakeholders to define and solve user problems.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions within a small, cross-functional pod.
  • Write typed, well-structured code across React, Next.js, Node.js, and Postgres.
  • Translate real user feedback into concrete product improvements quickly.
  • Identify bottlenecks in existing systems and propose practical solutions.

Who You Are

  • Shipped full-stack B2C products end-to-end to a large base of real users.
  • Brings 5 to 13 years of full-stack engineering experience, ideally around 7 to 8.
  • Comfortable with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and relational databases.
  • Has worked at a small, high-growth consumer startup, not only large enterprises.
  • Defines user problems independently rather than waiting for a ticket to arrive.
  • Genuinely cares about education, social impact, or human skill development.
  • Nice to have: Experience in ed-tech, marketplace products, or real-time video features.

Tech Stack

TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, GCP

Why You'll Thrive

  • Salary of up to $207K.
  • Small team means your decisions directly shape the product and its users.
  • Secured funding gives the team real runway to build without constraint.
  • Work fully remote on a mission that goes beyond commercial product goals.
  • Join before the team scales, giving you strong influence over how it grows.
