Forward Deployed Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA, 5 days/week in office
Salary: $120K - $180K + Competitive equity

Who You'll Join

A Series B voice AI startup backed by Emergence Capital and Y Combinator founders. You'll work directly with enterprise customers like Samsara, Snapchat, and TripAdvisor, building AI agents that handle real phone calls and drive measurable business impact. The team is growing fast and urgently needs people who can own complex customer deployments end-to-end.

What You'll Do

• Translate customer challenges into working voice AI agents integrated with their systems.
• Build prototypes quickly, deploy to production, and refine based on real customer feedback.
• Partner with customer engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure agents perform at scale.
• Own deployments from discovery through launch, testing, and iteration until agents sound natural.
• Identify expansion opportunities by analyzing agent performance and proposing new automation use cases.
• Travel to customer sites, build relationships, and serve as the face of the company to your accounts.

Who You Are

• Proven ability to ship technical projects from concept to production.
• Comfortable working with REST APIs, JSON, scripting (Python or JavaScript), and Git.
• Strong communication skills for explaining AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Drive to solve hard problems and exceed expectations without needing direction.
• Thrive in fast-moving environments where you own your work and see results quickly.
• Bonus: Experience with LLMs, product deployment, startup environments, or voice AI platforms.
